MARY DIED JUNE 13, 1877 AGE 76  MICHAEL DIED AUG 1866

{sjt#1-20} From a pedigree sheet for Charles Kelsey: Michael Kleckner (father of Elizabeth) was Pen. Dutch. died 1866.
{sjt#1-28} Part of a hand written note from Lenore Bringham Keitzer:
Soloman and Elizabeth Freeze were the parents of Marietta Freese Keitzer and came from Ohio. Lived in first house south of Keitzer home. Soloman died young of pneumonia. Before he was married he made the trip to Cal. for the gold rush and brought back enough to buy his farm. Before she was married Elizabeth's name was Kleckner.

{sjt #1-2} Notes from Roberta Kelsey Thomas state: Soloman died young from pheumonia. He was in the California gold rush. Bought a farm in Indiana, South of Monterey. Came from Ohio.
{sjt#1-5}From Mary Kelsey Richter in a letter to her sister Roberta Kelsey Thomas: Grandma Keitzer  [Marietta Freese] had 1 sister - Laura who had 3 children - Eva & Flo & Dan. The girls never got married but Dan did but had no children. Grandma Keitzer had 3 brothers- [1] Joe - married to Gertrude, no children, [2] Franki[?] married & had several children - I can't remember his wifes name [Matilda according to Roberta Kelsey thomas] [3] Arthur - never married.         I think[?] that is Dan & his wife on that picture sitting next to grandpa Keitzer. I don't have any negatives - I never owned a camera.
Looks like Adam Kleckner is the brother of Elizabeth. -SJT

ADAM M. KLECKNER was born in Carroll County, Ohio, April 6, 1840, and is the youngest of the five children born to Michael and Mary (Levengood) Kleckner, viz., Lavina, Joseph, Elizabeth, Jacob and Adam. The father was born in Pennsylvania in 1800, came when young to Ohio with his parents, became a hatter, at which trade he worked about ten years, and then became a farmer. He came to Monterey in 1847, served several years as Township Trustee, and also as County Commissioner, and died in 1866. Adam came here with his father, and here grew up among the first settlers. He was married September 18, 1864, to Ruth Miller, who bore him three children - Cora, Della and Berton. In 1865, he moved to Fulton County, Ind., and there Mrs. Kleckner died in February, 1879, a devout Christian, and greatly mourned by all. In 1881, he returned to Pulaski, and now owns a fine farm of 224 acres, one mile and a quarter west of Monterey. He also owns eighty acres in Fulton County. His chief attention is given to general crops, but he also rears stock to some extent.

"Counties of White and Pulaski Counties, Indiana - Tippecanoe Township" by F.A. Battey & Co. - published in 1883

Two exciting queries I found.  The 1st query says Catherine was mother to Peter Jr, the 2nd  query that Anna was wife1 and Catherine was wife2. The second one mentions Soloman. I emailed the 2nd one on 2/25/01, there was no reply. -SJT
